*The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a second round pick in 2010.
*The Edmonton Oilers traded Denis Grebeshkov to the Nashville Predators for a second round draft pick in 2010 (TSN.CA).
*The St. Louis Blues acquired goaltender Joe Fallon from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for goaltender Hannu Toivonen and Danny Richmond
*The Columbus Blue Jackets today traded defenseman Dylan Reese to the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Greg Moore.
*The Calgary Flames announced today that the team signed Matt Stajan to a 4 year extension worth $3.5 million per season
* The Dallas Stars signed forward Steve Ott to a 4 year extension worth $11.8 million (Dallas morning news).
