WBS PENGUINS 3 – ADIRONDACK 2

Playing for the first time in almost a week, the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins rallied from a 2-1 third period deficit, defeating the Adirondack Phantoms 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
The Penguins improved to 33-18-2-5 (73 pts) on the season with the win. They trail first place Norfolk by eight points and the Penguins have two games in hand.
— Trailing 2-1 in the third period, Paul Thompson (9) scored his 9th of the season at 13:11 of the period on a net-front goal and Brandon Defazio (9) scored twenty seconds later giving the Penguins a 3-2 lead at 13:31 of the period.
— Goaltender Scott Munroe gave up a questionable goal to Matt Ford but was excellent in the final forty minutes making 27 saves for the win. Munroe who has been a very underrated signing, is 13-4-3 on the season.
— The Penguins went 1-for-5 on the power play, getting a power play goal from Ben Street at 3:40 of the second period for his 19th goal of the season.
— Carl Sneep returned to the lineup for the first time in 11 games and was paired with Simon Despres in the game. Sneep was a +1 and Despres had an assist and was a +1 in the win.
