The Pittsburgh Penguins returned to the ice this morning with a short-handed group as a number of players were limited or did not practice.
Live practice updates: As i mentioned last week, winger Chris Kunitz is progressing from abdominal surgery and did some light skating today. He is expected to go through a full practice this weekend.
*Forward Max Talbot (lower body) is practicing. Talbot has been limited with a groin injury and has missed the past three games.
Talbot looks much improved from Monday when he was very limited at the Penguins morning skate.
*Bill Guerin is also practicing as the veteran forward missed Monday night’s game, however, Guerin is wearing a non-contact jersey. Sources tell me he has a “nagging” upper body injury.
*Meanwhile, Alex Goligoski is not practicing and a source tells me he has already been ruled out for tomorrow night’s game.
*Tyler Kennedy and Eric Godard (knee) are also not practicing. Godard has a knee injury and it sounds like he will be down for a while.
Craig Adams has been moved up to the third line in practice today, replacing Kennedy, playing right wing with Jordan Staal at center and Matt Cooke on left wing.

More to come after practice is over.
