Wednesday Workout: Polamalu questionable at best
Wednesday Workout: Latest buzz on Troy Polamalu
The encouraging news for Troy Polamalu and the Steelers’ defense is that the all-star strong safety returned to practice Wednesday. It was his first practice since suffering a sprained knee in the season opener on Sept. 10.
However, Polamalu was limited.
He took part in individual drills, but was held out of team periods.
Before practice, Polamalu said, “It’s up to me and the coaches” when asked who has the final say on whether he plays.
When asked if it’s risky coming up on an artificial surface _ Ford Field has Field Turf _ Polamalu said. “As of right now, I haven’t even though about that … nothing. Right now, I just want to see how it feels on grass.”
After practice, Polamalu stayed in the training room during the half-hour time slot for media interviews in the team locker room.
Besides Parker, two other Steelers missed practice due to injuries _ starting guard Chris Kemoeatu (ankle) and backup linebacker Andre Frazier (shoulder).
Wide receiver Hines Ward also didn’t practice, but, as a 12th year veteran, he seldom if ever practices on Wednesdays.
