Tomlin on the Giants: Offensively the Giants are second in the league on offense. Manning has only been sacked 6 times this year. Tomlin indicates the Steelers need to contain Plaxico Burress who could be a matchup problem. Tomlin says the most impressive thing about their offense is their offensive line. Tomlin even calls this group spectacular. The Giants rank 4th in the league on defense. The Giants have 21 sacks on the season and pressure the quarterback. They hit the gaps and the unique part of this group is their depth, according to Tomlin.
Deshea Townsend will be inserted in the starting lineup. Townsend remains a bit limited and may not practice much this week. William Gay will become the teams nickel back. There will be a lot of pressure on Gay to perform this week. Anthony Madison will also be called upon. Right now it doesn’t appear the Steelers will go the free agent route but it is something they will explore.
Tomlin says if Willie Parker is ready to play, he will start this Sunday. Carries for Mewelde Moore will depend on the circumstances and the flow of the game
Hines Ward was not fined for his hit on Keith Rivers
