The National Hockey League will explore all avenues to play the Winter Classic on Saturday and on-time.
NHL Chief Operating Officer John Collins held a conference call this afternoon and Collins said that the league is planning to start the game at 1:00 p.m. and pretty much go from there regarding potential delays.

“The decision is we’re going to at 1 {1:00 p.m.} and if weather doesn’t allow us to that, we’ll work through our options, Collins said during the conference call.
The vibe now coming from the NHL is that there more willing to go ahead with the 1:00 p.m. start and go through potential delays in the game than push the game back beforehand.
