It took a decade but the New England Patriots were crowned Super Bowl Champions for the fourth time Sunday night in one of the most thrilling final minutes of a Super Bowl ever. What everyone will be talking about for months to come isn’t the Patriots win, it’s the goal-line controversy as the Seahawks looking to outsmart the Patriots, opted to pass on 2nd and goal from the 1 yard line and the result was a nightmare as Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler jumped in front of Seattle wide receiver Ricardo Lockette and intercepted Russell Wilson’s pass to clinch Super Bowl XLIX for the Patriots.
Now the 2015 is officially open for business and official cuts will be coming from the Steelers and others in the coming days.
One Steeler under contract for next season who will be released is veteran wide receiver Lance Moore, which will save the Steelers $1.5 million in cap space. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Moore has asked for his release, though, the Steelers intended to release Moore anyways.
