Pittsburgh native Grant Lewis signs two year deal; Thrashers Ink Colby Armstrong


The Atlanta Thrashers have signed defenseman (Upper St. Clair, PA) Grant Lewis to a two-year contract, sources tell Inside Pittsburgh Sports. The deal is worth $1.175 million over two years. Lewis, 24, the Thrashers 2nd round pick in 2004, appeared in one game last season with the Thrashers, before suffering a season ending knee injury. Appearing in 54 games for the (AHL) Chicago Wolves, Lewis recorded 22 assists and was tied for the team lead with a +17 rating prior to his injury.
