Pirates to sign third baseman Brandon Inge
Veteran third baseman Brandon Inge is expected to sign a minor league deal with the Pirates, Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reports. Inge, 35, hit .218 with 12 home runs and 54 RBIs in 303 at-bats last season. Inge appeared in 74 games at third base and 6 games at second base in 2012, splitting time with the Detroit Tigers and Oakland A’s. The 35 year old made $5.5 million in 2012. In 2011 Inge batted just .197 with 3 home runs and 23 RBIs. Inge has a career line of .234/.303/.387 with 151 home runs and 641 RBIs.
