STEELERS PUT AN END TO SPECULATION ABOUT SUISHAM LOSING HIS JOB The Pittsburgh Steelers put an end this morning to speculation regarding the possibility of rookie kicker Daniel Hrapmann beating out veteran Shaun Suisham for the starting kicker job. Hrapmann showed a strong leg and at least had the media talking but was among the Steelers 15 cuts this morning as the team gets down to 75. The 15 players released also included linebacker Ryan Baker, defensive tackle Mike Blanc, wide receiver Paul Cox, cornerback Andre Freeman, linebacker Mortty Ivy (Waived/Injured List), offensive lineman Kyle Jolly, long snapper Matt Katula, tight end Jamie McCoy, cornerback Walter McFadden, tight end Justin Peelle, safety Myron Rolle, wide receiver Juamorris Stewart, defensive tackle

DeCastro’s significant knee injury doesn’t set back O-line to a huge extent

After a slow start, a lot of things went right for the Steelers in Saturday’s 38-7 win over the Buffalo Bills from making splash plays on defense to finishing plays offensively and putting points on the board in the second half. The No. 1 offense though showed a great amount of inconsistencies once again, which has been concerning, and injuries put a damper to the night when first round pick David DeCastro was hurt during a passing play on third and eight at the Steelers own six yard line. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin immediately after last night’s game called the injury “potentially severe” and when Tomlin mentions a player as potentially having a severe injury, it almost always is and that’s the case

3rd Version of The Latest TIOPS Steelers Camp Rumblings — The Mike Wallace holdout has now reached 12 days and it’s reached the point where it’s nothing more than a pride thing for Wallace, at least that’s the way Steelers officials see it. Management hasn’t been in touch with Wallace or his agent directly since the first week of camp and it’s now up to Wallace to swallow his pride. As the Wallace holdout continues, the Steelers are worried that he could become plagued with hamstring and groin injuries early in the season which is common for players who report to camp late. — Willie Colon has been tremendous at left guard in camp thus far, showing power, nastiness and some
