Seahawks rout Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII

SEAHAWKS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS It was total domination from the get-go and the Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl XLVIII Champions with a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. The saying that defense wins championships lives on and the NFL hasn’t seen a defense as fast, big, and physical as the Seahawks in years. Peyton Manning and Denver’s high flying offense saw it first hand. The Seahawks scored on a safety 12 seconds into the game and outscored Denver 36-0 before the Broncos scored their first touchdown of the game at the end of the third quarter. Peyton Manning had just 10 passing yards in the first quarter and threw two first half interceptions including a pick-6.

Steelers – Broncos Post Game Buzz: Manning’s mastery of making in-game adjustments on display in 31-19 win

Post-Game Buzz & Reactions In a back and forth game, the Pittsburgh Steelers were unable to slow down Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos offense in the no huddle and the Broncos played mistake free football in the second half, en route to a 31-19 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. “It was a tough defeat as they all are,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on the loss. “I thought they made significant plays in second half of football game in all three phases. We lacked the significant play.”

Things shaping up where Bill Cowher likely won’t have any viable options in 2011

Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher has expressed a strong desire to return to coaching in 2011 but the issue for Cowher is that there likely won’t be any viable options out there for him. Cowher is seeking the right situation, top dollar and total control. In reality, those kind of options just aren’t out there as teams are exploring cheaper options and going the assistant coach or college route. It was reported last week that the three teams on Cowher’s wislist are the New York Giants, Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins. The Giants are bringing back Tom Coughlin taking them out of the running and the Texans are bringing back Gary Kubiak. Houston had been the team mentioned most

Playoff Scenarios for the Steelers

Winners of two straight, the defending Super Bowl Champions remain in the hunt for a playoff berth going into the final week of the regular season. The Steelers have shown some pride in recent weeks after their season appeared to be over after a devastating 13-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns in week 14. On Sunday, the Steelers got some help with Denver (8-7) and Jacksonville (7-8) losing, however, Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell didn’t do the Steelers any favors last night in sitting his starters after the second quarter as the New York Jets (8-7) won a game that many didn’t envision them winning. All of a sudden, the New York Jets control their playoff destiny. If the

NFL Mock Draft Version 3

NFL Mock Draft  1) DETROIT LIONS> MATTHEW STAFFORD, QB, GEORGIAРWith Sam Bradford returning to Oklahoma for another season, Stafford holds on to the top selection. Sanchez has closed the gap between him and Stafford, but I still think that Stafford is the better selection. Stafford has a stronger arm and he has greatly improved his decision making this season. Sanchez is more of a project, he has significant injury issues, and he tends to make the stupid decisions that Stafford would make last year. 2) ST. LOUIS RAMS> ANDRE SMITH, OT, ALABAMA-  I don’t see any reason to change this pick as a result of Smith’s issues at Alabama. They don’t seem like the kind of behavioral issues that would

NFL Mock Draft Version 1

Our first NFL Mock is now available. We will be doing 2-3 mock drafts per month leading up until the NFL Draft in April. (Photo courtesy of SD Dirk) 1. DETROIT LIONS, MATTHEW STAFFORD, QB, GEORGIA (6-2 235 lbs) РI really do not believe that either Stafford or Bradford is worthy of the top selection in this year’s draft, but the Lions need at the position is probably going to force them into the selection. Stafford has the big arm and is probably the safer pick at this point. With that said, both Bradford and Stafford are not definitely entering the draft. If (and I don’t see this happening) both Stafford and Bradford remain in school for another season there is not

NFL: Is Tennessee the AFC’s top team?

Parity is in the air this season. You can make a argument for six-eight teams right now that could be considered the best team in the AFC. That is how wide open the AFC is right now. Last year San Diego, New England and Indianapolis were a step ahead of the rest. That is not the case through the first four weeks of the season New England (2-1) lost Tom Brady and they are no longer the force they were last season. Indianapolis (1-2) has struggled defensively and their offense hasn’t found their groom. I wouldn’t write them off just yet but their clearly not the team they use to be San Diego at (2-2) remains one of the most
