Trade talks heating up for Bouwmeester as the trade deadline approaches Florida GM Jacques Martin told the Camden Courier-Post he was in Philadelphia because his team had the night off, which is increasing speculation that D Jay Bouwmeester could be headed to Philadelphia. The Flyers have been in strong pursuit of Bouwmeester since early January. The Flyers are currently discussing two proposals with Florida. One that would send Joffrey Lupul, Randy Jones or Matt Carle to Florida and another that could include Daniel Briere as the centerpiece of a deal. A few tidbits I’ve been able to gather today Sources tell me Leafs forward Nik Antropov is not on the Penguins radar, he is not seen as a good fit. Teams want to see if Bouwmeester would be open to an extension prior to trading for him. Washington is a sleeper team in the Bouwmeester sweepstakes. They remain highly interested. TIOPS Post-Game Report: Crosby, Scuderi & Talbot injured in tonight’s game

The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Washington Capitals 6-3 Wednesday night and also lost Sidney Crosby, Rob Scuderi and Max Talbot to Injuries during the course of the game. Scuderi was hit with in the forehead with a puck during the first period on a penalty kill. He did not return. Forward Max Talbot suffered what is believed to be an upper body injury. Talbot left the ice early in the third period and did not return. Center Sidney Crosby suffered a leg injury late in the third period. The Penguins had their final preseason game today in Finland. Sidney Crosby led the way with 3 assists. Crosby set up first period goals by Evgeni Malkin and Ruslan Fedotenko. Tyler Kennedy scored the Penguins third goal to put the Penguins up 3-1. Crosby assisted on Pascal Dupuis first goal of the preseason that put the Penguins up 4-1.
