Linebacker Jarvis Jones has been officially diagnosed with an AC chest sprain, head coach Mike Tomlin said today. Jones won’t play in the preseason finale Thursday but Steelers officials are confident in Jones being ready for week 1. “It’s just one of those incidents where you fall on top of the ball and everyone else falls on top of you too,” Jones said. “I fell on top of the ball and it knocked the breath out of me. I don’t know how many people fell on top of me. I fell on the ball and our staff wanted to get it checked and make sure I didn’t do any damage.”

Jones blasted over Bell on one occasion and went around him on another, but the running back held his own in the third matchup.
