Talks between Marian Gaborik and the Minnesota Wild have reached a pivotal point as the season opener begins on October 11th. Wild GM Doug Risebrough tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that it‚Äôs time for Gaborik to make a decision. Two days ago Ron Salcer told the paper that Marian told him to get a deal done. Talks are on-going but it‚Äôs unclear whether a deal is imminent. The Wild are prepared to trade Gaborik if he denies their offer.
All this talk of Marian Gaborik wanting to play elsewhere may be just an after thought. Michael Russo, Star Tribune reports Ron Salcer the agent for Marian Gaborik gave the strongest indication Sunday that Gaborik has instructed him to get a deal done immediately.
