NHL: Bruins agree to deal with Miroslav Satan; pending physical


Satan signs with Boston Bruins Former Pittsburgh Penguins winger Miroslav Satan has agreed to a one year deal with the Boston Bruins. Satan will take a physical Saturday morning and the deal will likely be official Saturday afternoon. The deal is believed to be a pro-rated deal worth $600,000. Satan has played 1012 NHL games, recording 354 goals, 367 assists and 721 points. Satan was a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008-2009, recording 17 goals and 36 points in 65 games. Satan was re-assigned to the Penguins American Hockey League affiliate on March 3rd, 2009 after the Penguins acquisitions of Chris Kunitz and Bill Guerin. Satan re-joined the Penguins in the playoffs, appearing in 16 games playing a 4th line role. Satan had a goal and 5 assists in the Penguins memorable 2009 playoff run. *Word out of Boston is that the Bruins have stepped up their efforts to lock up center Marc Savard but a sticking point in the deal remains the term of a contract. Boston has offered a three year extension while Savard is seeking at least a four year deal and believes he has a lot of hockey left in him. *The Washington Post reports that center Michael Nylander has an offer from a KHL team, believed to be from the KHL’s Dynamo Minsk. Team remains interested in 32 year old winger In a scenario that has caught many NHL Insiders by surprise, the Pittsburgh Penguins have not closed the door on a potential return for winger Petr Sykora. Game 7 Morning Skate Update: Satan to replace Sykora


The Pittsburgh Penguins just took the ice about 30 minutes ago as the team prepares for game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The anticipation is sky high in the locker room and Pittsburgh is a confident team right now. The Penguins started out the skate going through some flow drills and then went into their normal power play one and power play two rotations.
