TIOPS AFTERNOON BUZZ 1. Tom Brady’s four game suspension has been upheld, the NFL announced moments ago. The Steelers will see Jimmy Garoppolo in week 1, unless of course Brady goes through the courts quick enough and is given an injunction that will allow him to play until things are settled in court. According to the statement released by the NFL, Brady destroyed the cell phone he had been using and the NFL was unable to retrieve over 10,000 text messages in what was a key piece of evidence that the NFL claims Brady deliberately destructed. 2. On the heels of acquiring Johnny Cueto, the Kansas City Royals are not done adding as the Royals are in the process of acquiring Ben Zobrist, per Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. New York 21 – New England 17 The New York Giants did it again to the New England Patriots with a last minute fourth quarter rally, defeating the Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI for their second Super Bowl Title in four years. Eli Manning led the Giants on yet another magical scoring drive. You have to stay with the defending champions until somebody beats them.” But doesn’t the return of Tom Brady (genuflect here) make the New England Patriots the favorites again? “The Patriots have Tom Brady, but the Steelers have a great defense,” said Shanahan, who didn’t have to explain further. Best sign: Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger aimed a few zingers at the media, then he threw some high, hard ones at his receivers.
