The Steelers won in New England for the first time since a 24-21 overtime decision on December 13, 1997. Post-Game Thoughts Statement Game: Today‚Äôs win was important for many reasons. This was a pivotal win for the coaching staff that has had trouble winning big games on the road since last year. The Steelers¬†remain in the driver seat to win the AFC North but they have a tough task ahead of them. They have now gained a game on the Jets for the #2 seed. A bye will be critical to any chances of making it to Tampa Bay. Catching the Tennessee Titans (11-1) may be out of reach for the #1 seed but the Steelers can make a big statement when they travel to Tennessee on December 20th. Offense making strides: Ben Roethlisberger threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-33 completions. Willie Parker and Mewelde Moore combinedRead More »

Thursday night‚Äôs win proves to be costly AFC North hasn’t been kind to Keisel: First it was the Cleveland Browns and now it may be the Cincinatti Bengals that could put defensive end Brett Keisel on the sidelines. Mike Tomlin sounded concerned following the game in regards Brett Keisel who went down in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. There is already speculation that the injury is serious and Keisel will be put on IR. For the Steelers sake let‚Äôs hope the injury is not as serious as some believe. The Steelers are very thin at defensive end and DT Casey Hampton remains bothered with his groin injury that will likely bother him the rest of the season, although Hampton will continue to play with the injury. Miller had 4 receptions – 44 yards – 1 touchdown.
Heath Miller will play tonight. Miller is coming back fairly quick from a high ankle sprain but indications are Miller can’t do any more damage to his ankle. Miller will likely play in 70%-75% of the offensive plays tonight according to Bruce Arians following yesterday’s practice. Mike Tomlin Press Conference News & Notes Bryant McFadden is out for Thursday’s game but has begun practicing. A good target date is next week’s game against New England Deshea Townsend has also been ruled out for Thursday’s game. Fernando Bryant will likely see an increased role Thursday night. Potentially the Steelers could have Heath Miller back this week. Miller will continue to be evaluated today and on Wednesday before the Steelers make a decision. Mike Tomlin would neither confirm nor deny that Marvel Smith has had another back surgery. He sort of by-passed the question.
