Johnson scores 40, reaches milestone in win

 

CALIFORNIA (Jan. 10) – Behind a career-high 40 points, senior guard Lindsay Johnson (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) scored her 1,000 career point on Saturday at Hamer Hall and helped lead the No. 8 Vulcans to a 100-58 victory Cheyney University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action. The California University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team improves to 10-2 overall after winning eight of their last nine games. With the loss, Cheyney falls to 5-3. Johnson becomes the 22nd player in program history to join the 1,000-point club, joining teammate Brooque Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Perry) who reached the milestone on Wednesday.
