There is a name I would be curious about… Kapenen is starting to see his name come up in rumours albeit I am not sure how much substance. At only 23 he’s still got some growth in him, could you imagine coming full circle on that one? Especially if Gally was involved lol
In a depth capacity I would be curious about Miles Wood too, while I don’t think anyone would confuse him for a top six guy he can skate like the wind blows and may see a numbers uptick outside NJ. Couldnt be worse on the score sheet than ZAR or Simon although I would move ZAR 1st if it could be done. He would add to the teams overall defensive game, his metrics were decent over the past couple years for a guy playing in NJ and he doesnt mind hitting. Pens would lose 300M on a move of Gally and ZAR for Kapenen and Woods but would get even younger and faster. I think Kapanen’s ceiling is at least what we thought we would get from Gally and Wood should at least be able to do what ZAR has but much quicker.
Getting NJ to move on a deal inside the Metro may be tough but with Ray there it may not be so bad for a minorish move like this
300 Million??
Sorry, I underwrite for a major FI that for whatever reasons uses M as in the roman numeral for 1000 and it creeps into my BS time to time. 300K lol
300 million…. I hope the cap goes up, a lot. Lol.
I know someone will discuss term, this is why this might work. I can see TO going all in this year as they have a lot of tough decisions this offseason. Gally not being inked to term may be attractive, granted I think Kapanen has enough value they would want something for the future as well… maybe we has to look at a pick as it would never be 1 for 1 with how Galchenyuk has performed and that it’s only a few months left
It’s ok. We’ve got ZAR
