John Niese (2-0, 3.50) threw seven shutout innings, allowing 3 hits, striking out 3 and walking 3. Neise in winning his second consecutive start, got 12 ground ball outs.
Andrew McCutchen (.261-1HR-3RBI) hit his first home run of the season in the fifth inning, a solo shot. Josh Harrison (.277-0HR-6RBI) was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, including a triple in the win.
