Have the Pirates already soured on Jon Niese?
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Pirates are “actively shopping” Niese.
Niese, 29, acquired in the Neil Walker trade has been a major disappointment with a 7-6 record and 4.87 ERA. With cheaper, younger options ready for full-time roles, another reason for the Pirates wanting to move Niese is also financially motivated.

2016: $9 million | 2017: $10 million Option ($500,000 buyout) | 2018: $10.5 million Option ($500,000 buyout)
