Scott Wilson (2-0-2) scored two goals including the overtime winner (3-on-3 play), leading the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins (1-0-1, 2 pts) to a 2-1 OT victory over Providence in the Baby Penguins regular season opener.
Derrick Pouliot (0-1-1) and Oskar Sundqvist (0-1-1) assisted on Wilson’s game winner at 1:18 of overtime.
Matthew Murray (1-0-0, 0.98 GAA, .976 SV%) made 40 saves on 41 shots in the win. It was Murray’s third career 40-save performance. (BOX SCORE)
