Taillon goes six strong in Pirates’ win vs Brewers

*Jameson Taillon was hit in the head with a line drive (105 mph) in the second inning, stayed in the game and went on to pitch six strong innings, allowing five hits and one earned run. Taillon struck out three and walked none, throwing 44 strikes on 65 pitches. Taillon’s outing marked the third straight start he has allowed one earned run or less.

*Mark Melancon officially received the win but blew a save opportunity in the ninth as Hernan Pérez singled to center on a 2-2 count with two outs to tie the game at 2-2. It was Melancon’s second straight outing with a blown save, his third of the season.

*Gregory Polanco was 0-3 with a walk and run scored in his return to the lineup
