updated: 2:15 – Just talked to a source who said he sees the Penguins as nothing more than leverage for Forsberg. Forsberg is looking for a winning situation but is also looking for one last pay day. His agent has made it known to interested parties that Forsberg is willing to sign a incentive laden contract but is seeking atleast 3-4 million per season. If the Penguins are truly that interested, i can’t picture them offering more than 2.5 million per season. I’d say the Penguins have a better chance of getting Mario to come out of the owners box then signing Forsberg. I’m just not buying it right now.
According to the Adrian Dater of the Denver Post, the Penguins, Anaheim, Buffalo, Nashville, Edmonton, the Islanders, and Detroit Red Wings are interested in signing forward Petr Forsberg. I should have some info on this later this evening. Check back later….
Talked to a few sources this morning who said there is absolutely no chance the Penguins sign Andy Sutton. At this moment Sutton is considering offers from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals.
