Ravens outbid Steelers, sign Chris Carr

The Latest Steelers Buzz The Pittsburgh Steelers will miss out on one of the teams top targets in free agency as Titans cornerback/kick returner Chris Carr will sign with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. Carr who visited the Steelers on Wednesday was offered a multi-year contract by the Steelers but the Steelers were outbid by the Ravens. Carr is expected to sign a two or three year deal worth $2.5 million per season. Sources tell me the Steelers offered $1.8 million per season but more years than the Ravens offered. Pittsburgh and Baltimore were Carr’s top two choices. Last season Carr was fourth in the NFL on kickoff returns (28.1 yard average) for the 13-4 Tennessee Titans.

Titans Kick return/Cornerback Chris Carr who has been on the Steelers radar well before free agency began, will visit the Steelers on Wednesday. Carr has been the Steelers top target this off-season as the team reached out to Carr on the first day of free agency. Carr averaged 28.1 yards per kick return for the Titans who had the league’s top kick return unit. Carr has visited the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings in the hopes of competing for a starting job at cornerback.
