Georges Laraque demands a trade

Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque has indicated he wishes to be traded, reports P.J. Stock on the TEAM 990 in Canada. Laraque signed a three year deal worth $1.5 million per season in the summer. The Edmonton Oilers could be a potential trade partner. They offered Laraque a four year deal in the summer but Laraque decided to accept the Canadiens offer so he could play in front of his mother The Toronto Maple Leafs could also be interested.

Many fans looking forward to a Eric Godard – Georges Laraque bout tonight will have to wait. Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque has been placed on injured reserve and will not play against his former team tonight. Laraque appeared in 71 games for the Penguins last season but has only appeared in 17 games for the Canadiens this season. Laraque has been bothered by a groin injury since training camp and the injury has hindered his ability to play back to back games.
