Report: Rangers making a play for Coyotes forward Peter Mueller

According to the New York Post, the New York Rangers almost traded for Phoenix Coyotes forward Peter Mueller. According to the Post, the Rangers wanted to send minor league defenseman Bobby Sanquinetti to the Coyotes, but Phoenix was demanding Brandon Dubinsky or Ryan Callahan to be included into the deal. Rangers GM Glen Sather balked at the deal as Sather remains very active in trying to add a top-6 forward. Mueller, 21, scored 22 goals in his rookie season but his production has has dropped since his rookie campaign.
