Tuesday’s Practice Report: Scuderi returns to practice

Defenseman Rob Scuderi returned to practice today after missing Monday’s practice with an illness. All-Star forward Evgeni Malkin who was excused from practice on Monday was also on the ice today as the Penguins prepare to face off against the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Monday’s practice report; Dupuis inching closer to return

The Penguins took the ice this morning at 11:00 a.m. and as expected head coach Michel Therrien made it through the weekend. Therrien and his staff are on the hot seat as the Penguins are 6-14 since December 1st. Prior to this morning‚Äôs practice the Penguins re-assigned forward Tim Wallace who appeared in 13 games with the Penguins. Forward Pascal Dupuis skated for the third time in four days and he is inching closer to a return. Dupuis has been sidelined with an ankle injury. The Penguins practice this morning at 11:30 a.m. Although the Penguins are coming off of an embarrassing 6-1 loss to the Panthers and are in the midst of a four game losing streak, don’t expect the Penguins to endure a long grueling practice this morning. The team has four games this week. Miroslav Satan has four goals in his last 26 games and has been non-existent during that stretch. Satan was dropped to the fourth line on Saturday. Therrien has proved in the past that he won’t play players in roles that they were brought in for, if they are not producing. Nils Ekman is a good example of that. The Arena Naming rights became offical today when CONSOL Energy Inc and the Pittsburgh Penguins announced today a 21-year deal for naming rights to the new Pittsburgh multi-purpose arena. Practice Report The Penguins held a optional practice today. Forwards Sidney Crosby, Pascal Dupuis , Tim Wallace, Evgeni Malkin and Eric Godard skated.
