Steelers believe Le’Veon Bell has no structural damage to injured knee

A top storyline for the Steelers this week will be whether Le’Veon Bell will play vs the Baltimore Ravens in the wildcard round. Brett Keisel’s season is officially over

The Pittsburgh Steelers this afternoon officially placed 13 year veteran defensive end Brett Keisel on injured reserve. Keisel suffered a torn triceps in Sunday’s loss to New Orleans.  Keisel is under contract for next season but this could be it for the 36 year old. Le’Veon Bell rushes for 204 yards in come from behind win over Titans

  The up and down Steelers showed up Monday night vs Titans but there was one consistent in Le’Veon Bell. The second year running back had a career night, rushing for 204 yards and 1 touchdown in the Steelers 27-24 win over the Titans. Bell averaged 6.2 yards per carry. Trailing by 11 in the 4th quarter, Pittsburgh outscored Tennessee 14-0 in the final quarter with touchdowns from Bell and Antonio Brown. Bell and Steelers pounded the Titans with a power running game late in the 4th quarter, running the clock out with a 12 play, 53 yard drive to close out the game. Steelers lose DE Josh Mauro to Cardinals

Defensive End Josh Mauro who had a very strong training camp and showed flashes of being a development player who could turn into something, has been signed by the Arizona Cardinals off the Steelers practice squad, NFL.com reports. Mauro was in contention to make the Steelers 53 man roster prior to the Steelers resigning Brett Keisel. Steelers coaches were high on his upside and were hopeful they’d be able to hide him on the practice squad throughout the season.

Troy Polamalu’s consecutive games streak will end at 30. Polamalu who has not missed a game since November 25, 2012, will miss Sunday’s game vs the Jets due to a left knee sprain. The Steelers don’t believe the injury is long-term but is a tough break for Polamalu who had played in every game the last two seasons. Polamalu had his leg rolled up on late in the second quarter. “We’ll evaluate him at the top of next week and see where we are,” head coach Mike Tomlin said. The best move will likely be to sit Polamalu until after the bye. The Steelers will also be without rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier again due to an ankle injury. Week 9

Brown who has emerged as arguably one of the top 3-4 receivers in the game, hauled in 11 catches for 144 yards, touchdown vs Ravens. Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers are on a roll. Roethlisberger threw for 340 yards and 6 touchdowns, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 43-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
