The Pittsburgh Penguins have fired assistant coach Todd Reirden. Reirden oversaw the 30th ranked power play but had support from key players and Head Coach Mike Sullivan as there was a push from many involved to save Reirden’s job.

F Sam Poulin | 2 Years, $1.550 Million (2-way)
The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed 2019 1st round pick Sam Poulin to a two-year, $1.5 million contract. The deal is a two-way contract that carries a $775,000 cap hit at the NHL level. Poulin, 23, who was scheduled to be a pending RFA, had 16 goals and 31 points in 41 AHL games. He appeared in three NHL games and was pointless.

G Filip Larsson | 2 Years, $1.550 Million (2-Way)
The Penguins today announced the signing of the 25 year old goaltender Filip Larsson, a sixth round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2016. Larsson played the 2023-24 season with Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League, Sweden’s top professional league, posting a 19-9-0 record, 1.93 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and league-leading five shutouts in 28 games played.

News: 2021 2nd round pick Tristan Broz turns Pro

2021 2nd round pick (58th overall) Tristan Broz has turned pro, agreeing to a three-year entry-level contract, the Penguins announced. Broz, 21, will join WBS on an ATO for the remainder of the season. The three-year collegiate player is coming off a strong campaign with the University of Denver, winning the National Title and collecting 16 goals, 24 assists and 40 points in 43 games. Broz totaled 79 points (32 Goals, 47 Assists) in 119 career collegiate games.
