  • Former Pittsburgh Penguins winger Alexei Morozov officially retired this week. “I took the decision for myself some time ago on vacation. I already had the decision in my head and can now announce it: I decided to end my career as a hockey player,” Morozov, 37, told R-Sport. Morozov the Penguins first round pick in 1995 (24th overall), never returned to the Penguins after the 2004-2005 lockout. He scored 85 goals and 219 points in 451 career games for Penguins. His best season was in 2001-2002 where he scored a career high 20 goals. If Morozov would have returned to the Penguins for 2005-2006 season, he would have only been 28.
