Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been pushing to start Thursday night and indications are he will. Based on today’s workout, Roethlisberger will make his third straight start of the preseason.
Roethlisberger likely starting further cements Bryon Leftwich’s status as the Steelers week 1 starter.
Word is Roethlisberger will play a series or two with the focus on running the no-huddle. The Steelers conclude the preseason Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.
The Steelers today also confirmed that Roethlisberger will be meeting with commissioner Goodell on Friday.
“Ben Roethlisberger is scheduled to meet with Commissioner Goodell on Friday to discuss Ben’s upcoming suspension. We are looking forward to hearing from the Commissioner, but we will not have any further information or comment until after they speak, ” Steelers President Art Rooney said today in a released statement from the team.
The Steelers expect to receive a decision by Saturday.
