The Pittsburgh Pirates put up 7 runs through the first three innings Saturday night and A.J. Burnett (7-9, 3.09 ERA) took it from there. Burnett went 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run, striking out 6 and walking 1 in the Pirates 7-1 win over the Cardinals. It was an excellent start for Burnett whose recent outings have been shaky to say the least. Prior to tonight’s start, Burnett allowed 15 earned runs in his previous 4 starts. |
