After a 0-for-6 outing Monday night against the Minnesota Wild, the Pittsburgh Penguins have made changes to their 29th ranked power play (14.3%) for tonight’s game against the Calgary Flames.
The major change is that Evgeni Malkin is no longer at the left point. Malkin will move to the right circle while Sidney Crosby will play down low with Bill Guerin in the slot.
Sergei Gonchar will remain in his spot at the right point and Alex Goligoski will now play the left point.
A source on the scene tells me there was a lot of movement in the morning skate with Crosby being moved around a lot and Guerin positioned more in the high slot.
The Penguins second unit consisted of Jordan Staal – Matt Cooke and Ruslan Fedotenko with Mark Eaton and Kris Letang playing the points.
Letang took a few reps with the 1st unit, but Goligoski took the majority of reps.
Power Play Units

2nd Unit: Cooke – Staal – Fedotenko
