Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is reporting Bill Cowher is a candidate for the Miami Dolphins head coaching vacancy. Dolphins owner Wayne Huiezenga is going to take his time picking a successor for the departed Saban and will pay top dollar for his next coach. If Cowher would bolt for Miami the Steelers would receive money and draft picks. As for the Steelers, The Buzzontheburgh’s sources indicate Russ Grimm is the favorite to becoming the Steelers next head coach but the Rooneys are very high on Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera. Ed Bouchette also reports in Thursday’s Post-gazette that wholsale changes are not likely.
Mario Lemieux and co-owner Ron Burkle met with Kansas City Officials Wednesday afternoon regarding the Penguins possible relocation. AEG is expected to hold a news conference tommorow morning in Kansas City regarding Mario’s visit. Conflicting reports surfaced over the internet Wednesday, and one report is Mario was offered a deal that Pennslyvania officials most will never come close to matching. Mario will meet with Pittsburgh officials Thursday afternoon and Rendell and his entourage better mean business or that meeting will be over in 5 minutes.
Steelers Offensive Cordinator Ken Whisenhunt is expected to interview for the Atlanta Falcons coaching vacancy this Thursday.
