Sidney Crosby left today’s practice about 30 minutes into drills due to a recurring groin injury that has been nagging him.
The injury though is not considered serious nor is it expected to keep Crosby out of the lineup tomorrow night against the Florida Panthers. The Penguins travel to Ft Lauderdale this afternoon for Monday’s contest against Florida.
Crosby’s linemate, Chris Kunitz also left practice early with a nagging lower body injury but like Crosby, Kunitz is expected to play tomorrow night.
Kunitz is coming off a two goal game and has 7 goals at the 21 game mark.
Second line center Evgeni Malkin was given a maintenance day and did not practice today. Malkin will play against Florida.
Carrying 14 forwards, the Penguins will not make any callups from Wilkes Barre for their two game road trip.
