Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin will both be sidelined for the start of training camp. Both injuries are believed to be short-term, though, the Penguins did not specify on the exact injuries for both.
Penguins head coach Mike Johnston said today Crosby’s injury is not related to his wrist. Both are being held out as a pre-caution. Crosby was injured during Tuesday’s informal skate.
Other Injury News
Olli Maatta has been cleared for limited contact and will practice for start of camp.
Pascal Dupuis, as expected, will not be cleared for contact at the start of camp but will practice. Dupuis expects to be cleared within a week.
Derrick Pouliot has also not been cleared for contact and won’t practice for start of camp..
Kasperi Kapanen dealing with a finger injury has been cleared to practice for camp.
