CROSBY CLEARED FOR CONTACT
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has intensified his on-ice workouts of late and participated in today’s practice that had several players missing including Jordan Staal, Evgeni Malkin, Steve Sullivan, Brooks Orpik, Kris Letang, Deryk Engelland and Dustin Jeffrey.
Crosby filled in on the top line for Evgeni Malkin, centering Chris Kunitz and James Neal in practice — The line head coach Dan Bylsma first planned to use this season.
Some big news was also revealed by Crosby after practice who’s return to the linep is considered very close.

— Crosby confirmed to reporters that he was cleared for contact today and he’s been symptom free for a few days now.
— Crosby called the latest development big and says he could play in a matter of days if there’s no setback.
— Sunday vs the Bruins is believed to be the earliest target date for Crosby (if all goes well) who is looking to get a few more practices under his belt. He said he would not return “no sooner” than Sunday.
