Pascal Dupuis eye is swollen shut. The Penguins are awaiting tests results to see if there is any structural damage. Dupuis was at the facility and according to a source on the scene, his eye “looks awful.”
Dupuis is regarded as day-to-day but is doubtful to play tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, two more players are questionable for tomorrow night’s game.
Max Talbot was evaluated today by team doctors with a right foot injury and is regarded as day-to-day. His status for thursday’s game is up in the air, while defenseman Sergei Gonchar has a foot injury that is bothering him.
Gonchar is also day-to-day and also may not play tomorrow night.
Pittsburgh will make one callup at forward and maybe one more callup could be looming, depending on the status of Talbot, which won’t be known until Thursday morning.
A callup to replace Dupuis will not be made until after 4:00 p.m. today, due to cap reasons.
There is word that the organization wants to give prospect Nick Johnson a look with the big club. Center Mark Letestu is also under consideration as the Penguins are also comtemplating using Craig Adams at wing tomorrow night.
Dustin Jeffrey is a logical choice if the Penguins callup two forwards.
With Ryan Bayda (knee) just getting back into action, he’s not under strong consideration to be called up.
