The Pittsburgh Pirates (25-29) have taken the first two games in LA, beating the Dodgers 2-1 on Friday night. Francisco Liriano (1-5, 4.62 ERA) who came into the game winless in his last 14 regular season starts, finally got his first win of the season, allowing five hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings.
Liriano showed some flashes of the 2013 Liriano, striking out 8 and walked 2.
Friday’s win was Liriano’s first regular season win since September 10, 2013 vs Texas and he hasn’t won back to back starts since August 2013.
