The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has scored two touchdowns this season and those drives have come with Ben Roethlisberger calling the plays and for the most part running no huddle. Roethlisberger excelled running the no huddle vs the Bengals in what amounted to about the Steelers only success on offense. Out of the no huddle, Roethlisberger completed 6 of 10 passes for 103 yards. What use to make Roethlisberger such a special player was the yards per attempt. In the no huddle vs Bengals, he averaged 10.3 YPA, compared to averaging 5.49 YPA when not running the no huddle. Two of the Steelers biggest pass plays came in the no huddle, connecting with Emmanuel Sanders for a 43 yard pass late in the second quarter and a 31 yard completion to Jerricho Cotchery. Will we see more of it? Likely not. |
