The Pittsburgh Penguins enter the All-Star Break with a 31-15-40-(66pts) record at the 50 game mark and following last night’s 1-0 win over the New York Islanders, the Penguins are maintaining in the Eastern Conference without Sidney Crosby.
Despite averaging just 2.1 goals per game in the nine games without Crosby, the Penguins have posted a 5-3-1 record in Crosby’s absence. The Penguins are winning behind their goaltending and defensive play, where the team has emerged among the league’s elite in both areas.
