The Penguins announced the team has recalled forwards Sam Lafferty and Andrew Agozzino on an emergency basis from the WBS Penguins. Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bjugstad have officially been placed on injured reserve due to lower-body injuries. Lafferty who has soared up the organizational depth chart, posted 13 goals, 49 points last season for WBS. Agozzino, 28, had 60 points in 56 AHL games in 2018-2019 for the Colorado Golden Eagles. Agozzino has appeared in 21 career NHL games, totaling 1 goal and 4 assists.
