Penguins GM Ron Hextall said today Center Evgeni Malkin will be sidelined for at least the first two months of the season. Malkin was re-evaluated by team doctors on Wednesday. The team internally has been bracing for a recovery period of around 5-6 months for Malkin, team sources have indicated throughout the summer. Malkin had knee surgery on June 4th.
