Andrew McCutchen (.292-22HR-66RBI) went 3-for-3 with three solo homers, two walks and four runs scored in the Pirates 7-1 win over the Padres on Sunday afternoon.
The big game from McCutchen snapped a Pirates four game losing streak as the club went 3-6 on a nine game road trip.
The three homer game was McCutchen’s third multi-homer game of the season and he’s now second among active players with three career 3-homer games.
Among Pirates players with three homer games, McCutchen is now third in Pirates history, behind Willie Stargell and Ralph Kiner who each had four.
