Patriots WR Antonio Brown has been accused of sexually assault and rape of his former trainer, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in the Southern District of Florida. The New York Times first reported the news Tuesday night. Brown’s former training Britney Taylor, accuses Brown of sexually assaulting her on three separate occasions in 2017 and 2018. The first alleged incident came in June 2017 at Brown’s Pittsburgh area home. Taylor in the lawsuit says Brown exposed himself and kissed her without consent at one of his Pittsburgh’s home. A month later at Brown’s home in Miami, Taylor alleges Brown masturbated near her without her knowledge and ejaculated on her back, then later bragged about it in a series of text messages that can be viewed online since the lawsuit went public where Brown says in the text to Taylor “I jack my d*** on your back”. In May 2018, Taylor says a third incident happened when Brown “forced her down onto a bed, pushed her face into the mattress, and forcibly raped her.”
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the NFL and the Patriots were not aware that the lawsuit was coming down. The NFL is planning an internal investigation and Taylor in the lawsuit says she plans to cooperate with all parties involved in the investigation. “We are aware of the civil lawsuit that was filed earlier today against Antonio Brown, as well as the response by Antonio’s representatives,” the Patriots said in a released statement. “We take these allegations very seriously. Under no circumstances does this organization condone sexual violence or assault. The league has informed us that they will be investigating. We will have no further comment while that investigation takes place.”
Brown’s lawyer, Darren Heitner, denied all accusations and Brown’s camp has been on the offensive saying they plan to countersue Ms. Taylor. Brown is expected to practice with the Patriots today.
