Sullivan-Torts in
NYR? Former Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan is on the verge of becoming the New York Rangers next head coach. An official deal is expected to be announced on Friday as New York will make Sullivan the NHL’s highest paid coach with a salary that could be worth close to $8 million per season. Sullivan after being fired on Monday, received initial interest from up to five teams, including his hometown Boston Bruins. From the get-go New York has been a heavy favorite in the process as Sullivan on Thursday had begun putting together a coaching staff, a group that is expected to be headlined by John Tortorella, via ESPN’s Emily Kaplan.
