Is 29 year old linebacker Lawrence Timmons destined to get one more big pay day from the Steelers?
In the last year of six year-$50 million contract he signed in 2011, Timmons who turns 30 in May, enters the 2016 season with a $15.1 million cap hit and due a base salary of $8,750,000.
GM Kevin Colbert told reporters today Timmons is a “valuable contributor” and will “certainly be back in 2016”.
It is expected that the Steelers will approach Timmons about an extension this summer, likely in the three year range.
