The San Jose Sharks   8 year offer that’s on the table to Erik Karlsson (believed to be in the $90+million range) is expected to keep the former Norris Trophy Winner off the free agent market.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported over the weekend the Sharks had a real shot at this and this morning TSN’s Bob McKenzie now chimes in that “all signs” point to Karlsson returning to San Jose.

The thought for months had been that Karlsson was heading back East for personal reasons but money will often win out and there was no offer like this coming from the likes of Tampa Bay or the New York Rangers who softened on Karlsson.
