Penguins 6 – Red Wings 5 (F/OT)
Erik Karlsson scored 1:40 overtime and the Pittsburgh Penguins have moved back into a playoff spot and control their destiny with three games to go. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t pretty for the Penguins who extended their points streak to 10 games after surrendering a two-goal lead late in the third period after Jeff Carter’s shorthanded marker put the Penguins ahead 5-3 early in the third. Pittsburgh found a way and gets the two points and is home Saturday night vs the Boston Bruins.
